Artwork > Wildflowers ~ Rocky Mountain Treasure Series

We are all familiar with the outlines of iconic wild plants…Ponderosa Pines, Oxeye Daisies, Quaking Aspen and Indian paintbrush. How often though, do we kneel and closely observe the spectacularly intricate, color saturated structure of plants, both common and rare. Their biological significance is hidden from us due to their quiet immobile nature. I paint these jewels of the forest, typically in large format, so that all their dazzling detail comes into focus and demands our attention. I aim to bring the scale of our visual template into alignment with theirs so that we see into their world as if we were part of it, like a honeybee or a moth might see them.
